Can't delete or backspace anything in indesign 2020

Whenever I'm typing I can't delete my unwanted text and also when I go in Presentation Mode, I cant exit out. I know InDesign had problems and bugs but I did not know it was this bad...

Hi Ashleigh:

Let's start with the basics:

• Which version of 2020?
• Have you rebooted the computer lately?
• Have you rebuilt preferences/cache lately? (https://www.rockymountaintraining.com/adobe-indesign-rebuilding-preferences-cache/)
• Are you using Sh+w to exit Presentation mode?

Thanks for responding. 

I downloaded the 15.1.2 version. I'm think of installing an older version.

I also tried your suggestion and it didnt work sadly.

Figured it out! It worked with the cache and perference process that was suggested, I had to uninstall then reinstalled.
