Can't write where I want

Sometimes the text in a textbox goes to the bottom and therefor dissapears. When I press alt-cmd-C the box expand and put the text somewhere I don't want it. 
I want A, not B!
What can I do to avoid this?

Check if the text is not locked to the baseline grid.

I do not see any differences between A and B on your screenshot, but it does not answer to your question.

Is there another frame on your page with text wrap applied on it?

check your text frame options. How is the text aligned to the frame?

Top, Center or Bottom?
