Hi,
I'm trying to add 'Page' hyperlinks to a print document so that when exported as a PDF, users can navigate the document from the contents page. Both the menu option in the Hyperlink palette for 'New Hyperlink' and 'New Hyperlink from URL' are greyed out. Also the 'plus' symbol at the foot of the palette is not available.
What am I doing wrong? I've never had this problem before. I have updated the app. Frustratingly, when other items/characters on the same page are highlighted those menu options are available. Is it a style sheet issue?
Thanks!
Hi Jim,
I'm not sure if this addresses your issue, but if you generate your contents using the Table of Contents feature (Layout menu), the hyperlinks are created automatically.

Should anyone have this same problem, it appears to be a quirk of imported text from Word having some obstructive formatting. I pasted the text in to Text Edit and reformatted as plain text to remove any formatting or interactivity. Then back in to InDesign and restyled it. Seems to be behaving now.
