I'm wondering if there is a way to grab and place text stored on Google. When I try and place text from a Google doc into InDesign, I am prohibited because the file is gray. Is there a solution or can I only select files from my local drive?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. InDesign doesn't support the file format of Google docs. InDesign can import text from either Word files (.doc or .docs) or .rtf files. Take look at this help article for more details: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/indesign/kb/supported-file-formats-indesign-cs5.html

You may save Word file on Google Drive/ Adobe Creative Cloud instead of Google docs.

Regards,

Srishti
