At the time I want to close and save my doc, I am told "cannot save the doc"
I have INDesign CC 2020, and use a MAC Mojave 10.14.6.
The solutions I read on the forum seem to me very very complicated (I am talking the one which suggests to reset the program).
AND I do not want to lose the doc I have been working for hours...
Thank you 🙂
Does File > Save as work? How about saving to different folder, a thumb drive, your Creative Cloud drive or Dropbox? Can you make a new file and save it, and then then copy the data from this file into that one?
No "Save" "Save As" etc are not available options.
Saving to a different folder is not possible.
Then if I want to close the document, In design asks whether I want to save the doc or not.
If I pick "Yes", then it bounces back saying "Impossible to Save"
As anyone been experiencing this?
THis is really annoying....
It's really important to Save your documents regularly and also do a Save As occasionally, and incrementally rename your documents (e.g. Name1a.INDD, Name1b.INDD etc), to clear out the crud that builds up and that causes file corruption. It also offers you a copy to go back to if something happens to the current version of your file. And keep copies externally in case something happens to your computer.
Belt and braces!
Thanks for your input. I do this Save regularly while I am working on the doc.
Here the "Save" or "Save As" options are not available.
When you add your final touches, export your doc in .pdf and finally want to close your Indd file, the system asks you whether you want to save the latest changes.
I always answer "Yes".
My problem here is that when I answer "Yes" (for saving the latest changes), the system bounces back saying "Impossible to Save".
I created a new Indd file, copy my info and paste them into the new indd file. Then I tried to save the new doc, I have the same bug, "Impossible to save".
This is crazy !!! Please help me to get out of this 🙂
j'enregistre tout mon travail sur OneDrive directement;
J'ai finalement réussi à me débloquer en attendant,..., le lendemain, et en enregistrant le doc sous un nouveau nom. Depuis plus de problèmes ... Ce qui s'est passé est très bizarre;
merci en tous cas
Il faut alors voir avec le support de OneDrive (que je n'utilise pas).
If you cannot save your file, try to export it as IDML and open that, save this now and work with the resulting INDD file.
thank you 🙂
