Hello,
I have a tough question for all the InDesign experts out there.
The people I spoke to at Adobe couldn't help me.
It was too tough for them... They couldn't handle it...
Here is the question: if I work on a file on the latest version of InDesign, would I be able to save it in a format or version that would be compatible with InDesign CS3 ?
Another way to put it: is there a way to open an InDesign file that was created with InDesign CC with InDesign CS3 ?
I only have InDesign CS3 and I'm trying to exchange files with someone who has InDesign CC.
Is that possible or it is just impossible ?
And, mostly, are you tough enough to handle this question...
Thank you!
Laurent
You can save .indd file to .idml format, that can be opened in previous InDesign versions up to CS4... then you should be able to open .idml file in InDesign CS4 and re-save to .inx file format for CS3 and below...
As far as I know - it's not possible to save directly from CC to CS3 and below. And you probably should not do this, because CC file most likely has features, CS3 does not support so conversion will not be 100% smooth

That's tough, Superman...
Unfortunately, I don't have CS4, so I can't try that. But that makes sense.
Thank you very much for your fast and accurate answer !
