changing titels in index - indesign

Is it somehow possible to change the tiles in your automatically generated index, and it will change the titles on the pages automatically?

No, an index entry is not linked to the actual text. You can see that for yourself when adding one: if the original text reads "indexes", you can change it to appear in the final index as singular "index" (and actually any other text as well).
