Hi!
My company has recently migrated from Indesing CC2017 (12.1.0.56) to CC2019 (14.0.2).
Here is our problem. We have a body text with the leading 10,5 points. The body text is locked to the base line grid that is 10.5 points. We start some paragraphs with a few words with a different character style. This character style has a leading of 11 points that automatically gives us an empty line above the paragraph. Thias has worked flawlessly with CS5.5 and CC2017.
But now in CC2019 some paragraphs using this character style will get an empty line above (correct) AND an empty line below the first line of the paragraph (incorrect). If we apply the character style again the empty line below disappears but if we move the text frame or adjust the height this faulty line can appear again.
Any suggestions what we can do to fix this is really appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Mikael Wiik
Universal thing about finding some shortcut path:
Check if Apply leading to entire Paragraphs is on in Preferences/Text. If not turn it on and reapply the paragraph style while holding the Alt key while clicking on the Paragraph style name in Paragraph Styles. See if that works.

I suggest you ditch the baseline grid. If your leading is applied consistently you don’t need it.

Unfortunately I can't ditch the baseline grid. We're using Indesign to make newspapers and we have a lot of elements that relies on the baseline grip. Without it everything will feel shaky.

I tried, but I couldn't find the force text reflow anywhere in my Indesign. I'm using the swedish version so I'm not complete sure what it's called. Can you look in your Indesign and post a screen shot? Maybe I can trace it with that.

Instead of using different leading to add space above the paragraph, have you tried using the Space Before Paragraph settings?
