So — after hours and hours trying all kind of things.
The solution is to update from Mojave to Catalina. And that's just ridiculous! Update the whole system to get one small, simple feature to work.

Hi,
I tried but unable to replicate this issue. Could you please answer following questions
1. Which version of Mac?
2. Indesign 2021 - which version 16.1 or 16.2?
Did you try cleaning preferences and caches? Following link will help to do so

Hey. Thanks for your reply.
I have two Macs, both with the same problem.
Mac Pro 2010 with Metal enabled grapichs
and MacBook Pro 2015
Both are running Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6 and InDesign 2021 16.1
(16.1 is the newest I can update to in Creative Cloud.)
I'll give the preferences anc caches a try, but all my previous experiences doing that have left me with my problem still going and without my custom keyboard commands and workspaces.

As suspected, this left me without all my keyboard shortcuts, without all my workspaces, and WITH the problem still.
Now it's time to try to recover my preferences. Good times.👍🏻

I think you can remove the «Correct Answer» tag now, don't you?

Also, to be clear on your question, You have mention short cut as Cmd+Shift+O which us used to create the outlines and in your video, you are using Cmd+O and Cmd+Shift+G.
So your questiona and video contradicts.
Although I have tested both your shortcuts so all works well.

Hi and thanks.
The keyboard command I would like to get working again is command+shift, Go to folder.
I've tried reset prefs, and that did nothing in to solve my problem.
I've tried running only InDesign, still the same problem.
I don't know what's up. Often the «New Document» command, aka Command + N, does not work either. I have to go into the menu and choose «New Document». I don't know if this could be something related?
Thank you, all of you, for your efforts. Unfortunaly no cigar.
I'll check the link provided.
Have a nice one.

Shift-Command-G: Open a Go to Folder window.
Shift-Command-O: Open the Documents folder.
Both of these are macOS shortcuts and are not the same in InDesign.
Would you like to revise your sample video that describes your problem?

Hi there,
Sorry to hear about your experience.
I agree with Charu & Mike both. There has been no change in the default keyboard shortcuts for Adobe InDesign. If you're not able to use the shortcuts, resetting preferences should help.
If they don't help, you may try the steps suggested on this community post & let us know if they help.
Regards,
Ashutosh

Glad you finally found the solution. I know it can be frustrating sometimes to figure things out, but yes the OS really makes a diffence. The OS and these apps are both very complex things so it's easy for incompatabilities like this to slip through the cracks. I often say I'm amazed that things work as well as they do considering how complex everything is (coders are human and make mistakes).
