Colour profile mismatch from within a document?

This seems weird to me: I'm getting a colour profile mismatch error when copying and pasting text (paste without formating) within an indesign document. Wouldn't have thought text would carry that info. 

And as a bonus, if I cancel at that point it crashes indesign.

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?
