Converting object to a radio button causes it to resize

I'm creating a form in InDesign and drew boxes that are controlled by object styles and are anchored within text to use as my form fields and radio buttons/checkboxes. When selecting one of my small boxes and converting it to a radio button, for some reason the size of the box nearly doubles in height. Resizing the field brings it back to the intended dimensions, but the circle inside is still distorted and additionally exports to Acrobat distorted. Any ideas as to what the heck is happening here?

I'm not a Interactive Forms guy - can you post an example file or some screenshots of what is happening?
