Cross Reference to a "Linked PDF File"

Hello,

I am working on a magazine with hundreds of PDF advertisements as links.  On the cover page, certain ads (5-10 per week) are highlighted with a call-out and their page number.  The tricky thing is, as the magazine is edited, these ads (PDFs) shift to different pages.  I'm looking to create a cross reference link to the linked PDF files.  Do I need to group a text anchor the object (ad)?  Can I create a cross reference directly to a linked object?

Why not, by design, build the hyperlinks at the end of the design phase?
