Data Merge - Error Message when trying to select data merge menu button

Sorry for this frequently asked question but i just can´t find an answer from the various questions already asked.

My problem is that i get the error message (transalted from German) --> Document can´t be merged since no spaceholders are present. Please insert objects into the document from the merge menu...

But everything looks ok, since when presing the preview button everything appears as it should. Also when going throught the created pages.

Any help is much appreciated

on the side i get t "E" element --> maybe it should be a "1" ??

solved it by jsut creating an entirely new document!! Hard but simple solution 🙂
