Deleting pages altering layout of remaining pages

I have an InDesign doc currently at 94 pages. No sections. I need to remove the first two pages but when I delete them the content on the remaining pages moves. Content on the left hand pages jumps 4mm to the left and content on the right hand pages jumps 4mm to right. Margins are set to 8mm.

What on earth???

I'm not sure why this would happen in your case, where left and right pages are staying in their same relative postions, but check under Layout > Liquid layout to make sure it is turned off, and in the dropdown menu in that dialog, make sure that Layout Adjustment is turned off as well.

Thanks for your thoughts. I've checked Liquid Layout and it is already off. I'm not understanding where Layout Adjustment is? Since writing the above post I have set up a fresh new doc and manually cut and paste the content over. It only took ten minutes but would still like to know why the content was moving. I had a closer look and it appears that it was only text boxes - not images.

Layout Adjustment is found in the drop-down menu of the Liquid Layout pallet.

Thought that's where you meant but it's not there on my version (CC2020).
