I just tried with 27 objects:

(1,2,3) (4,5,6) (7,8,9) (7,8,9) (7,8,9) (7,8,9) (7,8,9) (7,8,9) (25,26,27)

This must be an InDesign bug right? There's no way it can get it right sometimes and other times it spits stuff like this out?

Thanks for your reply Malcolm - but I've just solved it by remove the (4th item) loop and adding the activepage change to the bottom of the '3rd item' conditional

And

if((index+1) % 3 == 0){

Seemed to be causing issues when working together - I have merged these together and it's now working
