embedding or video playback from URL does not work ID 15.1.1

Im trying to import a video clip into an InDesign page.
I found numerous tutorials, and it just dont work for me.
I'd prefer to have it play back from URL. but when I preview with EPUB its just empty. I can play the file in the media window, though.

When I embed directly I will play back in the EPUB, but when I export it does not playback.

I now tried in Acrobat DC, I cant get the URL option to work here either
