I'm getting what appears to be a common error with eps files with the latest InDesign update:
"Cannot place this file. No filter found for requested operation."
I have TENS of THOUSANDS of eps files. These are standard format from the specialist software used to make them. (You won't know it, there are less than a dozen licenses of it in the world - I make newsstand puzzle magazines.)
What's particularly troubling is that not only do new epses created this month not work, but not even old ones that did work and are in current layouts. Meaning when the next batch of edits comes through if there are changes from the editor I won't be able to re-insert the images. (I can convert the format this time around but it's not a longterm fix.)
Is there any work around here? Desperate now. I know eps is old school but there's no reason they shouldn't work. I'm usually placing about 600 files at a time.
Ta,
Tina.
Hi Tina,
I verified the problem and also the fix for an issue with placing e.g. older EPS files from FreeHand.
Simply install the bugfix version of InDesign CC 2018 13.0.1.207 and test again.
Regards,
Uwe

to add, this message appears just after I tick the "Show Import Options" (just as a test) and choose a file, so I'm not able to check the options as described on this page InCopy Help | Importing graphics
