Hi,

I need to export all the texts of my Indesign document to a Word document.

I usually made a PDF and then export the PDF to Word.

But in this case I have tabs and doing so they are not exported as tabs but as singles cells.

Is it possible to make it directly from indesign?

It would be great to have the indesign tab carried in Word.

Thank you very much!

Lisa

You can export the text of a text frame or story (text frames linked over multiple columns and pages) to a Word documnet. This will preserve most cahracter and paragraph formatting and tables, including character and paragraph styles. It won’t preserve graphics and layout, sich as margins (except paragraph margins).

Hi There,

Have a look at the following discussion, basically one way is what you already have been doing ie INDD->PDF->Word. Other ways are some products that have been listed in these discussion with varying degree of accuracy and related pros and cons, you can read an judge for yourself

Hi Lisa,

the best way I know of to export whole InDesign stories to Word files is using WordsFlow by EM Software.

You can test this plug in for InDesign:

The esasiest way is to export a pdf from Indesign, open it in Acrobat and export it to Word. It is not really exact, but Word is a dilapidated app anyways ...
