Export to Adobe PDF (print) crashes InDesign 2020 on Windows 10

This seems to be happening intermittently across several different InDesign editions from .indd files.

Is there any permanent solution to this instead of doing a workaround of exporting firstly to .idml file, opening it and repeating the process to .pdf...

Any assistance greatly appreciated!

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about this trouble. Going by the details you shared above, there could be two possible reasons. Either the files are corrupt/ damaged, as they are working fine after being saved a IDML (which removes minor corruption) or it might be due to the network errors.

Could you please try the following steps and share your observations with us:

Mike,

Happening to multiple users on Windows 10 Pro x64 (builds 1903 and 1909).

Some are using InDesign 15.1 and others 15.1.1 (as we've seen, there should have been a fix for the issue in the newest edition)

File are stored in Sharepoint, if relevant at all. Export path would have been the source folder, as well on Sharepoint.

Although, this hasn't been happening previously even though the files were in the same places.
