Export to PDF pictures become color bars

Hi, I am encountering a very strange problem at the moment.

Some of my pictures get exported as color bars (as seen in the picture), or even only as black boxes.

Are there common problems about this or am I missing something out?

What‘s the format of the placed file? If they are coming from an outside source, try resaving them as .PSD format.

Hi, I changed the extension of the file to.psd. But still the same problem. The file is 111 MB big, could it just be too big? Thanks for your help!

The original file was .jpeg.

Changing the extension wouldn’t have any affect, you need to open the file in Photoshop and Save As PSD. 

The 111mb file size size is not a problem.
