I do about 20 large format prints a day and I was looking for a quick way to fit my placeholder frame to the document bleed.

Well, I finally found a solution and feel like sharing my discovery:

Set to Bleed - InDesign Script

- by Billboard Maker

I am not associated with the programmer, but thankful for the work.

I would be happy to know if I'm an idiot and this function is already built into indesign. If not, then consider this added to the idea bucket.

Dissapointed the link for the above InDesign Set to Bleed Script is no longer.

Was just doing some repetitious layout work moving image borders manually to the bleed file after file and thought, would be nice if there was an automated way to accomplish this.

Wouldn't a script have to assume the image could be proportionally enlarged from page to bleed margins? Seems like at least a few moments of user analysis and change would be needed on most such operations, and against that, the quick two-step drag-to-corner would be a minute effort.
