Font Changes from regular to condensed when copy & paste text boxes between documents

For some reason if I copy and paste from one document to another (text box itself not just the text) once pasted in the new document Indesign will change the font from regular to condensed version and I do not even have a condensed version installed for the fonts it happens to therefore the font ends up being missing. Note that when I open the files themselves no fonts are missing, nor does it happen when I copy/paste within the same document, it only happens when I copy and paste between documents. Does anyone know why it thinks the font is condensed, which doesn't even exist for the particular font, once pasted from a different document?
