Im trying to understand how to add the black line above the fotnotes in my document. Im unable to select them and when I remove that footnote text and paste it in somewhere else that black line is gone and I don´t know how to add it even though it has the Footnoe paragraph style.

Hi Agnes,

that line is not defined in a paragraph style.

It's part of the footnote options you find under the main Text menu.

In the Layout tab of this panel. From my German InDesign:

Caution: "Line Above" (Linie über:) has two options with the same controls!

"First footnote in column" and "Continued Footnote".

Oh. And footnote options are tied to the document.

So yes, the line above could be different or missing at all if you copy text with a footnote from doc A to doc B.
