Guides no longer appear over image

My guides are no longer visible over graphics. I can still see them over the standard white background but if I add an image the guides cannot be seen on top of it. Everything that can by checked in my Preferences is checked. I'd appreciate any help. thanks!

Hi chuckj,

best double-check that option "Guides in Back" is unchecked:

Preferences > Guides & Pasteboard

Guides Option

[  ] Guides in Back

Other things:

What is the layer your guides are on?

Is it perhaps invisible? Go to the Layers panel and control that.

And please show a screenshot where the guides are partly visible on the page and partly not visible because there is a placed graphic.

Unchecking the "Guides in back" option did the trick. I never ran up against that before. Thanks!

Well, "Guides in Back" is a document preference.

So someone else could have set this option…

I was updating an 8-year-old document, but it was my original creation, so I dunno...
