hello, i have a masterfile with linked content-boxes (also InDesign Files). In those linked files i have layers with information i do not want to be seen in the masterfile. Even if the layers are set invisible, they show in my masterfile. Anybody an idea how i can change that?

Hm. You cannot hide the layers entirely.

You can only change the visibility of the layers.

Possible workarounds in the placed InDesign documents:

Move that secret information to pages you will never place.

Or to master pages you will never use.

Hi Uwe,

thank you very much for your reply and also for the tipps.

Still it is very strange... since you export only visible layers for PDF or other formats.

Why should you place an indesign file in another indesign file and *surprise* it shows all layers!? Not only the visible ones. that makes absolutely no sense to me... or am i missing something?

best, kerynn
