Anyone knows how to highlight characters styles like in the image below?
It would be very useful!

As Jongware mentioned these are XML tags. What you can do is create a XML tag for each character style you have using the Tags panel, and then using the flyout menu of the Tags panel choose the "Map Styles to Tags" option. Map each style to its corresponding tag that you created. This should get you the effect you are needing

Those are XML tags. They are not actually linked to character styles (or the reverse) – you can add any XML tag you want to any text.

Not sure if this helps, but you can highlight overridden Character Styles:
