I am looking for a faster way to adjust the positioning of margin-aligned text frames after changing the margins within a Master Page, rather than going to each page of a book, grabbing the frame, and moving it.
We distribute POD paperback books via Lightning Source and KDP. Each company wants their margins set up differently, so I have to design the full book using one format, copy the book and document files into a different folder, and then in the new book's documents shift the margins (using the Master Page) and text frames (page by page) to fit the other company's requirements. When dealing with up to 35 documents in a book and anywhere from 75 to 400 pages, it can get quite tedious to have to go to each page to drag text frames and graphics frames.
I have some new books coming out soon, and I wanted to see whether there was a lazy way to accommodate both distributors' needs with minimal work on my part. Worst case, I just keep doing things the tedious way... it works, though I could think of better things to do with my time, like get more books developed.
Thanks!
The official way of doing this would be to enable InDesign's "Adjust Layout" feature before changing the margins. Have you tried that?
Otherwise, two free scripts that might help:

... and especially
