How to create PDF in InDesign so that users who download PDF from website are unable to change words

Hi,

When PDF is created from InDesign document (classroom lesson), then uploaded to my website, then PDF is downloaded by website visitor (teacher) -- is there a way that no words can be changed in the PDF?  I may be mistaken, but it appears that my lesson can now have word changed by the teacher end-user.

Thanks,

JoAnn

You can set security to "protect" a PDF but I warn you...it's hardly difficult to get around. Many PDF readers don't honor it.

You can outline all the text for the document too.

But this will also remove any way to search the text and also other functions.

Really, there is nothing you can do. And why would you go to trouble to make things harder for teachers to do their job? Customising their teaching is surely a real need.

You can always check your source with new version of this document and find difference in Acrobat Pro.

Here you go -

You can do your certificate and apply it to pdf. Any pdf that will be without your certificate - you will know that somebody do some changes with your file: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/certificate-based-signatures.html

Remember, never say you can't do something in InDesign, it's always just a question of finding the right workaround to get the job done. © David Blatner
