Hi

I was wondering if anyone has experience with svg files exported from TurboCAD. I have cad drawings in A3 size that I export in svg format. When I place the image in Illustrator or InDesign using the same page size, the image is a lot smaller. I've attached my test example here. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Have you considered washing them through Illustrator to see if that helps?

A quick Google ask indicates TurboCAD also exports .AI and .EPS. Have you tried either of those?

Hi André,

inspect the code of your SVG file.

The View Box is defined as:

viewBox="0 0 1024 768"

The values are in points.

Thus the file is placed as rectangle with 1024 pt in width and 768 pt in height.

( Plus an extra of 2 pt in every direction when you do that in InDesign. That's a bug with the SVG import feature. )

That also means that you cannot scale the placed graphic proportionally to an A3 format.
