Importing iCal/ exel sheet into Calendar template

Hi, 

We would like to create a calendar template that my client updates each year. The have 100s of events each year. Is there a way to import the calendar text into inDesign or any other Adobe product to speed up the process?

I would also LOVE to be able to do this. I send out a calendar of events weekly and it would be so helpful to have a script or data merge option for this.
