Hi there,

I'm trying to use data merge so that I can create a bunch of photos that are personal to my customers (by their name). I'm sending out emails with these images attached so I need the photos created on in design to be separate photos so I can store and locate the images with ease.

I've attached an image so you can see what I mean.

How is this possible?

Thank you,

Jonny

I suppose it's the same photo all time and just the names change.

What you need

If so you need a database with a column "name" where you list the names. Then you might use one of the following solutions:

Data merge in Indesign

With basic InDesign data merge you won't be able to do it completely - Here's why: InDesigns data merge creates an InDesign file so you'll have to separate single pages to single files. There are scripts for this but its still a lot of work to get things done

Tools

There are tools like MyDataMerge for macOS we use exactly for that. It merges even excel files, generates single custom named files (e.g. jpg) and all with ease. For 2 placeholders (like on your photo) its even free to use. I'd give it a try (https://mydatamerge.com)
