Increase UI Scaling in InDesign On MAC

Does anyone know how to increase the interface size? ... In .ai the preferences does allow you to increase the tool size so they are more visible. I cannot find anyway to increase the interface in InDesign; my eyes can barely see the small font, tools are ok, but larger would be nicer.

Much appreciated, Laurel

Hi, to my knowledge in ID you can't increase the interface size.

You can change the screen resolution or use the accesibility options on Mac

Yes thank you as I increase the screen resolution, (Command +) only the

documents get larger, not the actual interface for InDesign. EX: gmail

interface does expand when enlarging with command +, which is great.

Thanks for verifying ... wish they had an option for this sizing issue ...

purposely bought an iMac for large display - didn"t occur to me they would

reduce / fix the interface to barely legible.

No CMD + it's just to zoom in. But changing the resolution in the system pref on the Mac it's the only way at this moment to change this ! But you can vote on the Indesign Uservoice for a better Indesign

Hi Srishti,

Where is UI scaling in AE ? Getting tired of holding magnifying glass up to on my 27inch 5k moniter.

This is ridiculous that Adobe hasn't fixed this. Maybe Apple will come out with better software !?

Super frustrating when trying to meet a deadline.

Hi Laurel,

Thanks for reaching out. As mentioned by Alexandre you can upvote this feature request.

UserVoice page the best way of communicating with the Engineering and Product Management teams regarding issues and suggestions so they can be implemented in future releases.

Along with that, you can also try UI scaling options in InDesign Preferences (InDesign > Preferences):

Srishti

Hello Srishti,
Thank you all.

My inDesign preferences are different from yours, not sure why ???  (Please see bottom image.)

However by increasing my iMac System Prefs -  it helped / solved my issue.

Under resolution / scaled ... so simple, I couldn't find it.     .....      Is my face red? : )

Thanks everyone.

Laurel, Bob is right. Your preferences are different than mine because I am using Windows. I am sorry I did forget that you are using MAC. I am glad that you are all set after increasing the UI size from system preferences.

Do let us know if you have any further query.

Regards!

Srishti,

Why are you posting a Windows screenshot when the issue is with Mac?

And it now appears that the OP has found the setting in the O/S to fix this, I'll take this occasion to rant about the absolute god awful UI scaling on Windows. When is it going to get fixed?

Photoshop and Illy (yes, I know they are different applications) are fine so it can be done. HiDPI displays are nothing new anymore and it's time some attention was paid to this on the Windows side of things for InDesign!

Bob, I totally missed that Laurel is using MAC. I am sorry about that. For issues with HiDPI displays, I have forwarded your feedback to the product team. You could also do the same on Adobe InDesign Feedback.

Thanks!

Thanks, I’ve made my point clear in quite a few places. Maybe one of these days it will get some attention.
