Hi, I am looking for help as my InDesign stops working when I apply a paragraph style to a text or even when I delete some space. the places where the bugs occur are always the same. I can delete some of it, and other part will make the full window freeze.
I've tried waiting for a looong time but no, I need to close the whole thing, I've tried switching to the previous indesign version, tried restarting my computer and waited the night to see if it would magically fix itself, but it did not.

Please help, I need to finish this this weekend...

A few questions:

Which version of InDesign and OS?

Does this freeze happen on all documents or just this one?

How much RAM and spare disk capacity do you have?

Have you tried resetting the InDesign preferences?

Thank you for answering!

I have Indesign 16.1 and I am working on PC with windows 10.

The freeze doesn't seem to happen when I modifiy other documents.

I have 16Go RAM and 9,10 is available. I have 110G of spare disk capacity.

I have just tried to reset the Indesign preferences but the bug is still here...

Hi Galadriel,

could be that your document, or parts of it, went corrupt.

Try the following:

[1] Export all pages to PDF/X-4 with no downsampling of images or color conversion.

[2] Export to IDML

[3] Open the IDML as new document and save to a new name.

[4] Inspect the pages and check with the help of the exported PDF from [1], if something is not the way it should be.

Regards,
Uwe Laubender
