Hi

InDesign constantly becomes none responsive and crashes out. When I try to re-open my document it tells me it is damaged and has to repair it.

We have tried the fixes that are listed on the forum and even spoke with Adobe to know resolve. This happens in various versions. We are on Adobe Creative Cloud Package so generally, we have the latest software. We are just wondering if anyone else has a similar issue.

Currently, we are running InDesign 15.1.1 running on a Windows 10 64-Bit PC. i7-6700 16GB RAM.

You're need to attack Adobe support again.

Remember, never say you can't do something in InDesign, it's always just a question of finding the right workaround to get the job done. © David Blatner

Thanks for the response. The problem we have is unless they are willing to sit and wait for this issue to happen we can't do anything.

Sometimes you will have just started working on the document and it crashes. Other days it will work well all day and then just give up.

The last support operative we had from Adobe wasn't great. Hence why we are back here.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about this. There are multiple factors, both internal and external to the application that can lead to document corruption, however, we can take a look and see if the file can be repaired. Please try exporting your file to IDML, and then try to open the IDML file. If that doesn't help either, email your InDesign file to idfile@adobe.com and we will take a look at the document.
If the file is larger than 10 Mb, you can upload to Creative Cloud account (or Dropbox) and send us the document link. Please do not share ZIP files.

I must also inform you that file recovery can't be guaranteed with a 100% success. We'll surely try our best.

Regards,

Srishti

Hi

Thanks for the response. The file is fine. The issue we have is that InDesign keeps crashing out. It manages to repair the file but the program is the problem as this can happen on multiple files.
