Hi there,
When I try to open Indesign the application opens for a few seconds before freezing and becoming unresponsive (Application not responding). I have tried restarting my mac, reinstalling Indesign, clearing preferences and opening Indesign in safe mode. I've also tried to change permissions using terminals but when attempting the commands:
it says that there is "no such file or directory". I'm using Indesign 2021 v16.1 on macOS Big Sur v.11.1.
Thank you!

Hi,
Unfortunately, Indesign still doesn't open and still shows "application not responding" after using Adobe Cleaner.

That is not nearly enough of either.

Sorry about this trouble. As Bob mentioned, recommended RAM for InDesign and other Adobe app version 2021 is 16 GB, however, if you are getting any error message or crash report, while working on InDesign, you may definitely share it with us and we will be able to help you.
For more details about InDesign system requirements, please take a look at this help article ( https://helpx.adobe.com/in/indesign/kb/system-requirements-indesign-server.html )
