Hey Guys! I hope someone can help me with this.
I have the CS5.5 Design Standard. I am currently running macOS Mojave 10.14.6 (don't want to update it as the update will stop CS5.5 from working).
I keep having issues with InDesign and Photoshop, both keep crashing. I have tried uninstalling and installing both. InDesign now started not saving my work (the options are greyed out) and I cannot drag and drop images anymore. Cant even re-link my images either, the option opens up, I select the link and the open button is greyed out. Like I said, I have tried to uninstall the software and installing it again. I have also tried deleting InDesign preference files (used to work with saving docs in the past) - but that no longer works. I know I can save work as an IDML file, so not the end of the world, but the fact that I cannot place images bothers me.
I know I am having these issues because of software. With everything going on, I definitely cannot afford CC until I start working again. My last option is to reset my computer and not upgrade my software...but i really dont want to do that haha! Has anyone managed to make their CS5.5 work on their computers?
If your InDesign work is mission critical you need to upgrade to CC.

What you don't want to do is irrelevant. CS5.5 is nine-year-old software. There have been as many new versions of InDesign since than as there were before it.
Either move to Creative Cloud or find a very old machine on eBay to run CS5.5.
