indesign could not package the document

error " indesign could not package the document" appears when packaging.

 

I can package the file to my "Desktop" location but does not package to my external hard.
I am able to save just the indesign file to my external folder ( don't think its a permission issue)

Package it to your desktop then copy it to the external drive... 

Sorry I don't know what could be causing the package not going directly to the external drive - but it is likely a permissions issue. 

That or there's a filename that's too long/not permitted for the drive format... perhaps.
