InDesign crashing and freezing my Macbook Pro 2018

Having a lot of problems with Indesign 16!! Every time I try to open a file, when i have one or two files already open, Indesign crashes. When I force quit the programme closes but the screen is frozen and I have to shutdown the laptop manually.

So sorry to hear about this trouble. I am hopeful that the issue is fixed by now. If not, could you please confirm if this issue is related to a specific document? Where are the files saved (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System /External HDD)?
