Creative Suite 6 ran for over 8 years on my Mac @ OSX 10.11.6/ElCapitan, with 20GB RAM.
Stupidly, I installed a cyrillic font, just for two lines on a X-mas card: InDesign crashed at launch.
Uninstalled InDesign, unistalled every single font that was not native to my Mac, reinstalled only fonts from the orginal Adobe Creative Suite 6, all to no avail.
Uninstalled inDesign again, went to Terminal and tried to fix it in the root:
sudo chmod -R 777/Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign --> No such file or directory
sudo chmod -R 777/Users/<user>/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign --> No such file or directory
sudo chmod -R 777/Users/<user>/Library/Application Support --> No such file or directory
Still no joy!
HELP!!!

File names that contain spaces must be in quotes.

Thanks, I will try that, first thing in the morning.
But to be sure, how or where do I put the quotes?
There are3 spaces in -R 777 in front, in the middle and directly after it and off course there's 1 in Adobe InDesign.
So I'd guess it will look like this:
sudo chmod "-R 777"/Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/"Adobe InDesign"
Is that right?

Afraid not. The file name is /Users/...Adobe InDesign so it must be
sudo chmod -R 777 "/Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign"
etc.

It did not work, alas.
This time there was no worning like "No such file or directory", but the result was the same.
At launch the dialogue window asked if I wanted to start the "repair option" (in dutch, so I don't know if this is frazed right for the English version) and then stopped cold, before I could react.
