Hi there,
Sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing the version of the OS & InDesign? Do you get error while exporting this specific file or all? Are you saving the file on a network location? If yes, try saving it on a local drive first.
You may also try saving the file as IDML or export the file by dividing the pages to see if any page/graphic/link is the cause of failure.

hm, a similar issue came up yesterday in the forum, but I did not see a solution there.
Your screenshot is showing a very unspecific error message:
My suggestions in this other discussion were:
[1] Quit InDesign. Restart your machine. Open InDesign, open no other app, and try Export to PDF again.
[2] Suppress the background process for exporting to PDFs and other file formats.
Instead export in the "foreground". How will that work? Read about the details here:
If you are able to export in "foreground" a progress bar will show up during export.
That progress bar may give you more information at what point the export hangs.
Or, if you are lucky, you'll do your export successfully altogether.
