InDesign export taking forever then receive error

I am attempting to export to PDF. I have a 40 page document in 21 spreads and is image heavy. When I export, the task runs for about 15 minutes then I get this error: 1 Problem (1 failure) was found with a background task. I don't have any errors in my links for fonts. Please advise!

Divide and conquer.

Export half. If it's fine, export the other half. Eventually you'll find the culprit.

Things to consider:

Which version of InDesign and OS?
How much RAM and spare hard disk capacity?

Which kind of PDF

What is the size of the InDesign document?

Have you tried resetting the InDesign preferences?

Have you tried saving the InDesign document as an IDML doc then opening as an InDesign document?

Do you have this problem often?

Have you tried dividing the doc in half and seeing if one half will open and the other not, and, if so keep dividing until (hopefully) you isolate the issue (maybe a corrupt font).
