Indesign hyperlink to PDF

Hi all,

I need to create a PDF from an Indesign file. In this PDF I need to create a button or hyperlink to open a different PDF. It's like a hyperlink for a webpage but in my case needs to be a hyperlink to a PDF document from a PDF

 

can anyone help?

Hi,

Can you confirm the version of the software and operating system you are using?

Can you also describe where is that other pdf stored? is it online, accessed by everyone internally... but not on your hard drive. What you need is the path (like a web URL, network address of your other pdf) then in InDesign, highlight the text you want to use as a hyperlink and from the yperlink panel (Window > Interactive > Hyperlink) add a new hyperlink.

You can then select the correct options and paste the path you copied earlier.

Where is the other PDF located?

If it's not on a web server the safest and reliable way is to place it as an attachment inside the main PDF file, and to add a link on a page for letting the end-user to open it easily.


But this is out of reach of InDesign, this requires Acrobat Pro.
