InDesign running slow even after reinstallation

Hello,

So, I have the most recent version of InDesign installed on my computer. Up until today, it's been working fine. However, when I opened it today, it is painfully slow. Every time I try to change font size, do anything, it freezes.

I tried uninstalling the app and removing previous data/preferences, and reinstalling the app. This didn't work. I tried looking up previous preference folders to delete, but couldn't find them as described in another thread because this software is installed on a different drive from my main one. I turned off the font preview, and this didn't help either.

Now what?

Just tried it. Didn't change anything.

I also uninstalled InDesign and reinstalled it on my computer's main C drive. This also changed nothing.

Further update: I moved my files to a laptop PC and at first, InDesign was working fine. However it has gradually gotten slower and slower to the point that it's practically unusable.
