Is there any way to kill the current process/task at a specific timer?

Currently, we are having an issue where our multiple IDS when picking up one task/process, somehow it will taking forever to process and we identified it was halted for some reason. Due to this we could not able to use those specific IDS as currently its status in "processing mode".

We wonder if there is a command-line with SOAP to give a specific timer if more than xxx seconds, it will kill the current process, not the app.
