InDesign text box duplication

In version InDesign 14.0.1.209, I noticed that several, separate text boxes were duplicated on my page.  I deleted the duplicates, saved the file, closed it, then reopened it.  The same text boxes were duplicated again.  I deleted them, saved the file, quite InDesign and opened it on another computer.  The same boxes were duplicated again.

It is either a bug, or there is some setting that I have inadvertently checked.  I appreciate your help and suggestions.

Is this only happening with this particular file? If so, you may have a corrupt file. Try duplicating and changing an existing file which is problem free as well as creating a new file. Does the problem persist?

Another option to explore is to save your file as an IDML file. From the Save As dialog box change the Format dropdown menu to IDML. Open this IDML file in InDesign and review the contents. If the file is now error free you can then save the file as a standard InDesign INDD file.

Thank you, Michael.  Unfortunately, I won't be able to check this out because our school is closed.  However, I will definitely give both options a try.
