InDesign TOC - Formatting being picked up from document

Hi

I have an InDesign Table of Contents where I use different TOC-styles to format the entries. I would expect these TOC-styles to override the paragraph styles of its entries, but it keeps on picking up the formatting of my document for one specific heading, which in my document, is styled with a cut-out or see-through (via opacity > knockout group) effect. Whenever I update my TOC, this title is formatted just like the heading in the document -with a cut-out effect, although I defined a specific Entry style for it in the TOC style settings.

If anyone knows what I am doing wrong here, please let me know.

Thank you in advance!

Cynthia

Take a look at your screenshot, see the link symbol left upper corner, the 'chain'? This is not text but an image, in the text. So it shows up as that image. You have converted text to outlines by selecting the text not the frame, so now it is in image inside text and that is what you will get in the TOC: the 'pasted' image 😉

Thank you very much for your response, but how can I make sure that headings in my TOC display as 'regular' words and not outlines?
