I am having some trouble with Adobe Photoshop and Indesign. Initially I had a problem with the creative cloud, so I have uninstalled and reinstalled it ( and now create cloud works normally) - so from there I did the same for Photoshop and Indesign. But they both are still not working - when opening them they show the a blue rotating circle and won't show the normal opening page where you can see your recent documents or create a new document.

How do I get it back to normal?

Have you tried deleting your  Preferences and Caches? An uninstall would not necessarily reset them.
