What operating system?

What version of InDesign?

What image types, some types, like large PSD files, or even tiny Jpegs, or is it PDF or Illustrator files?

One step that is common fix is to reset your preferences

Delete InDesign preferences with shortcuts
  1. Windows: Shift+Ctrl+Alt.
  2. Mac OS: Shift+Control+Option+Command.

Give the reset preferences a go - instructions and link in my last post.

Is it all files or just this file?

Just that file - use File>Export and choose IDML - and open that IDML file in InDesign (File>Open)

I will try saving as IDML for the file.

If I do the Preference Reset- what actually will happen?

Any custom preferences  you have may be lost.

You can back it up before if you like

https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/indesign-preferences-support-file-locations.html

But restoring preferences is the no.1 option when something is not working as expected.

It's probably server lag - what have your IT said?

Try copying the files locally and see if the problem desists. If it works fine on your desktop, then it's probably some server setting.

Hi Eugene,

see below for everything that I have done so far;

  • Copied files to desktop to work locally
  • Copied the files contents to a brand new document
  • deleted all links from the file
  • Saved file as IDML
  • Shut Down multiple times
  • Loged out of Adobe Cloud and logged back in
  • Multiple people have logged into use the file and they have the same issue

Note: this has all happend just after the 2021 Update

  • I can go a start a brand new document and and there are no issues/ only issues with files that have content in then prior to the update

How did you do this?

Are you try to package file and work with this packaged file?

Good point there.

Copying linked files from a network location to the local machine won't automatically relink to the local copies.
