Is there a way to make InDesign read from Excel?

I am currently in the process of designing labels that we will be using for our products and I was wondering if there's a way to make it a lot quicker by having a template on InDesign and having it read from an excel file and input the data without me manually doing it.

I know you can import excel tables into InDesign but considering there are about 250+ labels I'd like to see if there's a quicker and easier way to do it.

Thanks for any help!

This is precisely what InDesign's Data Merge function is for. InDesignSecrets.com has some very good articles about using Data Merge.
