Hi all,

Believe me I have searched!

I work on a laptop..

When I open for example the effect window, the size of the window is perfect.

When I open the paragraph style window, the size of the window is huge!!

Much bigger than my laptop screen.

None of the other style windows shows this behaviour. I have checked them all!

Is there any way to resize the paragraph style window?

Thanks in advance

Carl

Hi Carl,

The panel is resizeable, take your cursor to the sides and the cursor will change allowing you to click and drag the panel to a smaller size. If this does not work then try restting your InDesign preferences and see if that helps

Hi, thanks for answering!

I did reset my Indesign preferences.

I tried both methods but still my cursor won't change to allow me to resize this panel.

There are a number of possibilities in play here that might affect how you should go about fixing this.

Are you using a built-in workspace, or have you rearranged things?

If you made your own workspace, did you name and save it?

Is your Paragraph Styles panel docked along a screen edge or to the bottom of another panel?

Is there another panel docked to the bottom of the Paragraph Styles panel?

Is your Paragraph Styles panel nested with other panels?

It's not clear how you operate. You say "when I open..." but I'd want to know whether that means the panel was completely out of view and opened via Window > Styles > Paragraph Styles, or if the panel is always visible in some form, docked in your workspace as an icon, for instance, and expands to the too-large size when clicked. Can you post a screenshot of your normal screen layout, and then another with the Paragraph Styles panel open?

Hi Carl,

the Paragraph Style Options panel is not resizable.

You can only move the panel a bit outside of the layout window.

Hi Carl,

best do a feature request on this. When done come back and post the link to the request so that others can vote for it:

https://indesign.uservoice.com/

I will definitely vote for a request like that.

The far too huge panel also bugs me on my laptop…

Thanks for the reactions!,

And for confirming that the Paragraph Style Options panel is not resizable.

I did a feature request on the matter, and the link is: https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/40152127-pl... for future voting.

Have you checked your computer display settings?

Usually, you want the resolution set to the one that says recommended.
